Last week I had one of those in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time experiences. I was wandering around a thrift shop when I saw this peeping out of a basket on a table…
Silk? Really?
There were six balls of this in the basket and I grabbed all of them. And just because the universe was in a puckish frame of mind that day, I ran across another ball that someone had carted back to and abandoned in bric-a-brac :)
No plans for use yet - but it should make a stunning scarf :)
I’m pondering using this…
Wouldn’t that be a shame? Heheh…

What a great find! Silk scarves. YES! I can tell you’re a happy pup.
Oooh! Silk at the thrift store! What a find!
As for your handpainted yarn, I think it’s just gorgeous. I can’t wait to see how it knits up.
Joan! - Nice to see things are good enough for you to be able to type a little!
Yes, I ridiculously pleased with my little find. I’ve been thinking about Faina’s Scarf (scroll to bottom of page). It might be a little smbitious, but I think I can do it.
Opal - You’re very kind. I’m still undecided about the yarn, but I will definitely try it our and see what happens - nothing to lose! It will be colorful, if nothing else :)
I’m Italian and if you need translation just send me the text. I will be more than happy to do it for you. :)
Laura - Thank you so much for your kind offer of assistance. There wasn’t a lot of print on the label and, using the translator, I was able to get the sense of it without too much difficulty.
But I will remember your thoughtfulness should I need help with something in the future :)
Mille grazie!
(Yes, I had to look that up!)
Di nulla.. lol (You are welcome!) If you ever need it you have my email… and the red silk is gorgeous!!! Happy knitting!
