Back to your regularly scheduled blather....
I was absolutely geared up and ready to get seriously cracking on the pink stole but felt that I really needed to put in some more time on the Autumn Seeds sweater. So I dutifully picked it up and have been working on that. Come to discover yesterday, I was going to need the super-long circular needle I was using for the stole because the sweater increases had dwarfed the capacity of the needle it was on. Sigh....
So I carefully transferred the whole three rows of the stole to another needle to be held until I get past the armscyes of the sweater - which, needle juggling aside, is coming along nicely :)
As far as Chatters goes (or a Friday post, for that matter), all I can tell you is that it’s possible - but not guaranteed because I don’t know where I’m going to be or what I’m going to be doing - aside of the holiday shuffle, that is! If I don’t see you then, I’ll be back on Monday :)
To those in the states, Happy Thanksgiving! For those elsewhere, I hope the rest of your week speeds by easily :)
No trackbacks yet.
and a happy thanksgiving to you there too-
i know you’ve been a bit ambivalent about your haircut, but i just have to say you look positively chic! tres belle!! move aside kirsty alley and let’s have a big round of applause for the whole ‘robbyn’s sensible eating plan’-
umm, sweater is pretty too- stay happy-
Eh, well, chic and I are only nodding acquaintances but accidents sometimes happen :)
I am such a fan of top-down raglans. I finished my first one, and now I’m itching to do more. I’m in the middle of my second one that has 8 seams instead of just the 4 raglan seams. The additional ones are in the center of each sleeve and the center front and back...so instead of increasing 8 stitches every other row, it’s 16 stitches every 4 rows. It’s a top-down adaptation of Meg Swanson’s Box-the-Compass sweater.
Then I want to do one where I stop knitting several inches before the wanted length. Then I cast on stitches and knit the extra length sideways as if it were an edging, and put a big cable in the center of it. I saw a sweater with a cable at the bottom of a sweater going sideways, but it was knit separate and sewn on. I hate sewing, so I thought of treating it like an edging. I hope it will work.
Then I want to do another 8 seam sweater, but do the increases with yarn overs. And continue the yarn overs down the center front and back and down the sleeves for an open look.
The top-down raglan is so versatile. I just love it!
Marcy - Your ideas are wonderful! I especially like the cable panel, knitted on like an edging. Hmmm...with the appropriate stitch pattern for the body of the garment, a lace panel could be pretty snazzy too!
gorgeous knit! and finally a decent look at your face! I may not make chatters this week - happy thanksgiving to you and yours
Nat - Well, I rather think I look like a demented elf, but I had to find some way to photograph the partial sweater that wasn’t utterly boring!
As for Chatters, don’t give it a second thought :) I may not be there either :)
