I know I said no more socks for a while, but I was thinking…
Caribbean socks?
I could have walked to Ft. Lauderdale with less bother and in less time!
So this time, I’m going to wear my old, shabby, disreputable clogs - easy off, easy on. And if I’m going to do that, well then, fun socks seem absolutely essential :)
This is Caron Simply Soft and you may recall its previous incarnation as the attempt at the Lady Eleanor entrelac stole from Scarf Style. I do still very much want to make that stole, but this just wasn’t the right yarn for it. So, since I want fast, easy and funky socks and I already have these neat-o colors and since I can work these reasonably on size 5 needles…
Heheh - I may have a sock to show you on Monday :) Wear your sunglasses!
Where am I going next Friday? Down to Ft. Lauderdale where dad and I will catch the Crystal Symphony which will cruise through the Bahamas for the following 10 days. And we got a very nice surprise when Dad picked up the tickets on Monday. The cruise line upgraded our cabins (for free) from rooms with a view to rooms with a veranda! That means we each have our own private little porch off our staterooms. The best part about that for me is that it means I can “open a window” at night by simply leaving the veranda door open a bit. Ahhhh…
The path looks like this:
Crystal’s Circle Caribbean Cruise, aboard the Crystal Symphony
Gotta get packing!
No trackbacks yet.
well, you know i certainly moaned and whined enough about the demise of your ‘lady eleanor’ for this trip, so i am delighted to see a reincarnation underway- those will be fun socks-
the green glow visible from the south isn’t anything alien- it’s me exhibiting trip envy! (keep repeating to myself: ‘i’m glad robbyn has a nice trip coming up, i’m glad ...etc’)- umm, isn’t envy one of those 7 deadlies?- must reform immediately!
stay happy-
Barb - Well, they are certainly fun colors. Right now, I’m thinking about striping the blue and turquoise and using the coral for toe and heel :)
Yeah - clown socks! Actually, what I really want is to see my father’s eyes cross when he sees them :)
I’m SO jealous. What a wonderful trip. I love those colors and I can’t find them locally. Fun socks, cruise socks. YEAH!!!
Joan - That’s exactly what I was thinking - traveling socks!
I am so looking forward to this trip :)
WOW! I hope you have a FANTASTICAL time on your cruise!
I love the idea of knitted socks for the airport inspection.
It IS annoying when you have to “re-shoe” and re-pack on the other side of the scan. They should have places for people to sit down and gear up. Instead, you feel like you’re being rushed thru a revolving door. HURRY UP AND MOVE!!!
I’ll be looking for the picture of the new socks.
Laurie - Nice to know I’m not the only one who feels frustrated in the airport :)
I had this trouble when travelling to the US at 5 months pregnant. I had to remove my teva sandals! 3 times!
Nat - Sandals? Three times? Good Lord… Good thing it was you and not me, because if it had been me, I’d be in jail now!
Three times? Sandals? And you didn’t even throw them at anyone?
lucky you!
