Had a bit of stash acquisition yesterday - heheh… I found this really nice cotton, Classic Elite Pure and Simple. It’s a sport weight and I could easily separate the strands if I wanted to - but I think I’ll work it just as it is. This will probably become a tablecloth.

Lovely, soft cotton!
This pale olive/beige isn’t a color I would ordinarily go for, but with the cream as contrast, it should be fine and I’m thinking this would make a beautiful table cover - probably crocheted. It would be nice with my dishes too :)
I also acquired these:

Be still my heart :)
For me, size 7 needles are perfect for the Waterspun yarn. I do have size 7 metal DPNs, but the Waterspun also loves the birch needles - and so do I. And since I have determined that I am going to make the next pair of mittens on DPNs, there was only one solution - to purchase some Brittanys. I know, poor me, eh?
And we have a bit of poncho progress to report - but nothing spectacular. I’m hoping to finish this side over the weekend. This week has been a bit hectic so the knitting has kind of gotten short shrift :(.

About 10” worth of poncho
I stopped at Trader Joe’s last night for coffee. For those of you who have this alternative grocery in your areas, I pass this along. They have nice, big, canvas bags (with their logo stamped on each side, natch…) for about $2.00. Perfect project bags, sturdy and spacious. I picked one up with my coffee and will be going back for more.
And of course more bags means I can get more yarn for more projects. Right guys? Right?
No trackbacks yet.
You will LOVE your Brittany DP’s. I prefer them to the Clover. I just started some mitten last night. I am making them on 2 circular like I do my socks. This will be an expermiment when I ge to the thumb gusset. The cotton yarn is lovely. That will make a gorgeous tablecloth.
Only you could somehow make a trip to Trader Joe’s be about knitting! :-)
i just love my brittany needles- regretably, some of the critters find they make exquisite toothpicks so i have several rather shredded ones (they still look nice ‘on display’ with the points of shame hidden)- the brittany crochet hooks are quite comfy too-
ah, i can enjoy your stash enhancement without the pain in the pocketbook it would cause if i was adding to my already almost over-abundant stash- of course, no matter how much yarn i already have, when i see what others have i immediately think i need some of it too- probably a good thing there isn’t a real lys for well over 150 miles and even walmart and hobby lobby are 65 miles away- umm, i just might click over to elann and see what’s available though-
pink poncho- yeah!!!
stay happy-
Poor you, forced to buy some Brittany needles - you must be devastated lol.
Maureen - I can’t wait to cast on for the mittens! I have a few pairs of straight Brittany needles that I love - which is why I went for the DPNs :)
Ryan - You would prefer, maybe, skeet shooting? Really - I just went in for coffee! Really!! Hehehe…
Barb - My critters hav shown no interest in my wooden needles - but they did gnaw the tips of my bamboos.
The stash enhancement was lovely, but it was closeout, bargain-bin stuff marked down to practically nothing. I haunt this particular place because some surprising stuff shows up in their get-rid-of-it box from time to time. Indulgence without guilt - who could ask for more?
Pam - Yep, just devastated :) Hur, hur, hur….
I like my Brittany dpns, too. I’ve used them a few times to make felted hats and the i-cord for my Booga bag. Hope you enjoy yours!
Laura - I expect to enjoy the hell out of them! :)
