Now that I’m home and have my stuff back, I feel a lot better. Well, except for the cold that is making itself known. Funny, I almost never get colds so this promises to be a truly irritating interlude :)
I finished the One Row Scarf last night. It’s about 8 inches wide and about 5 feet long. It goes with the Short, Fat Stocking Hat.
I also started what I think is going to be a stole out of the myriad pinks I seem to have accumulated in the stash over the last couple of years.
The Autumn Seeds sweater is also moving along slowly but I won’t bother you with another in-progress photo until I get down past the sleeve holes. Suffice it to say that I am still in love with the color and still haven’t managed to foul up the stitch counts. Keep your fingers crossed!
Have a great weekend all :)

Can’t wait to see how your stole turns out.
that is a lovely collection of pinks you have there! Are you making up the stole pattern as you go, or are you using a guide?
Opal - Neither can I!
Nat - I had thought when I started that I would just go by the seat of my pants (so to speak!) and see where the colors took me. However, because I have yet to wind a fair amount of this yarn, I have had time to think about things a little. I’m not sure a little more planning wouldn’t be a good idea so while I nurse the plague (sneeze, hack, etc...) and wind the yarn, I’ll be giving some thought to design. I may still decide to wing it - I like the spontenaity of that - but there are other possibilities as well :)
I just got caught up on your posts. I can’t believe your luggage was missing. That had to be very frustrating.Love your hat and scarf set. I look forward to seeing what pops up with that pile of yarn. :)
Oh those pinks are gorgeous
As I just posted on my blog, I am in need of some reds right now.
Maureen - It was beyond unnerving but my biggest fear was losing my needles. I am so glad they finally made it back to me!
Rob - Funny you should mention red! I have yet to wind much of the pink yarn and I’m just not motivated to do it today. So, I dug out the rest of the red Cascade that was left over from Dragonwings and am making a hat!
Let’s hear it for warm, cheerful colors!
I’m so definitely NOT a pink girl ... but I luuurrrvve that pile of pinks… so they MUST be yummy :]
Catsmum - You know, until recently I wouldn’t have claimed pink either - purple, certainly! - but not pink.
But I’ve noticed pronounced changes in my color taste and preferences over the last year - which is, actually, kind of fun! I wind up making things in these cool new colors and they don’t go with anything I have...yet!
Robbyn, glad to see you back. So sorry about your luggage. What a nightmare! At least the ship was comfortable and the staff were helpful. Hope your Dad enjoyed himself. We had a lovely time with Seven Seas this summer in the Baltic and thought the service was top class.
Anne - Yes, the service was superb - couldn’t have been better :) I find that I really liked the smaller ship as well!
I love these kinds of projects! I have one going on myself. it started with some Noro yarn. I leave it out on the table with a basket of leftovers, and knitter friends pick it up when they are sitting and chatting! It’ll be a friendship shawl, I guess...Also, beautiful photo...where is it?
Marianne - Yes, they kind of evolve as they grow and it’s fascinating to see what they become :)
The picture was taken in Cornerbrook, Labrador - Canada - a really beautiful little place!
