My Saturday with Bron couldn’t have gone better - what a great day! I picked her up at her hotel and we headed for our first stop - the Classic Elite mill shop where we both did well.
From there we headed north to New Hampshire to look around the high end place. Beautiful, beautiful stuff they have, with price tags to match. There selection of needles is unparalleled however so they are a wonderful resource. I did notice that they had some nice lace weight that I could afford without maiming my finances too badly and I’ll probably check that out eventually. Also, and it took Bron to point this out to me, they have quite an eclectic and esoteric selection of buttons. Some were puzzling but most were beautiful and I had never even noticed they were there!
Finally, we wound up at McDonald’s because it seemed to both of us that salads would be a good idea and McDonald’s, contrary to everything you might expect, has excellent salads. And there we roosted and knit and chatted for the rest of the afternoon. Only through the blog-world, could you meet a friend whom you had never seen in person before. We had a wonderful time :)
See this?
I’m going to leave the poll up (in the sidebar under the Knitting Chatters banner) through tomorrow. It seems that most folks would find the slight change in time acceptable and a good thing. I’ll let you all know what the outcome is on Wednesday.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and that your collective Mondays don’t weigh on you all too heavily :)
No trackbacks yet.
awwww, wish I could have been there too! Sounds like you gals had a great time! Thanks for sharing
Nat - We did, but it would have been great if you could have joined us :) Maybe someday, eh?
I’m just ... buzzing with jealousy. Really. Darn East Coast folk - you need to come out to the um ... well, rather boring midwest.
Colleen - Well, you never know - stranger things have happened :) If I ever find myself out that way, you’re at the top of the visitin’ list!
Two words: Cloud. Hats.
Two more words: Hi, Bron!
One MORE word: Jealous.
Hi Robbyn, I’m de-lurking to say I’m so thrilled that you got to “meet” Bron. Bron and I came thisclose to meeting once, but alas, it did not work out.
Ohhhhhh (she said wistfully) What FUN!
SIGH. pooh, it’s Monday.
Oh I finished my socks. Wheeeee!
Ryan - Yeah, I’m keeping the cloud hats in mind - Plenty of mohair to go around! Glad to see you out and around in blogdom :)
Hi Marie - I guess we were lucky for sure :) Perhaps you’ll have another opportunity some time!
Aarlene - Serious congratulaions on the sock finishing! You must be so pleased :) I’m sorry it’s Monday but you know, tomorrow it won’t be! Heheh…
Robbyn, sounds like a fun day. I was wonder what place you went to in NH. I’d love to check out their needle selecttion. thanks, Ellie
Hi Ellie - We went to Ewe’ll Love it in Nashua. Beautiful yarns, breathtaking selection if a bit high end and a great selection of needles and books.
I had a feeling it was that store. Was there once last year. I felt like a little kid in a candy store. I should go back one of these days. When i went last year i was a brand new knitter. I’ll know alittle more of what to look for. Thanks, Ellie
Lucky you, what a great day you had! Those colours look so gorgeous.
Anne - It was indeed a lucky day and the mohair colors are really something to see. Hope your knitting mojo comes back soon :)
