I know it’s pro forma
And kind of old hat -
But if you’ve the time,
Won’t you join us and chat?

The poem you wrote was delightful
Chatting with y’all is insightful
Though the topic may roam
My butt stays in my home
While my mind is so free it is frightful.

Aarlene - Heheh...Oh boy! A poetry reading!! LOL - people would stay away in droves :)
Oh I don’t know. There’s a long and hardy tradition of one person reading, singing, etc, while the others knit, quilt and so on. The internet can adapt to that too.
But in all truth I think you guys are both better knitters than poets.
Amaryllis - That’s just too funny :)
But I have often thought how nice it would be for someone to read aloud while I was knitting. Books on tape or CD are nice enough, but you can’t say - “Wait - what was that? Can you read that last paragraph again?”
Well, exactly. It happens in Little Women, as I recall, among other books. I loved that book as a child. Jo was such a refreshing difference from the girly girls. My daughter hates that book. Was required to read it for a Young People’s Literature course last semester. Apparently it does not speak to the internet generation.
But really, chat is no more than the exchange of friendly postal notes between friends; it just happens faster.
All the best in your poetic endeavors, and your knitting. Me, I’m still plugging away on the Aran Diamonds afghan. Sigh.

Oops. Forgot about Thursday night chat. Oh, forgot about my RL knitting group tonight too. Actually, I think I forgot it was Thursday....
