It finally got here - I was beginning to wonder!
And that’s my hand too!
And, of course, it’s got me all hot to crochet something - just to get a hook in my hand again for something besides picking up a dropped stitch! I need to dig out the Kimono jacket and get that finished. I’ve only got the sleeves and trim to do.
But I want another project too and maybe crochet is the ticket. I love knitting, don’t get me wrong, but crochet was the first thing I tried to do with my hands that didn’t make me feel completely inept and clumsy. And you always go back to your first love :)
This morning, for the first time, I caught both dark gerbils out together.
No trackbacks yet.
Now that you’ve been published, will you still talk to us pedestrian types?
Congratulations! Looks great!
Wow, that looks great. It must be so exciting seeing your work in print like that, all glossy and lovely.
Excellent calendar...I saw it in a bookstore the other day and couldn’t remember its significance. Maybe someday I’ll do something remarkable as that!
Love the pics of the gerbabies!
Ryan, I was going to ask the same question! The book looks great - all the more so due to that one delicious pattern :-)
I was beginging to think that you had only 2 gerbils, or 2 living gerbils and one imaginary!!
I’m glad you finally got your copy & I’m glad you liked the calendar! It wasn’t my cup of tea but I know I’m in the minority.
Congrats on having your pattern published - what a thrill! :)
Woot! How exciting is that to see your pattern published.
whee, you’re a model too!!
good to see the wee rodents are venturing out more- umm, perhaps they are going to finally all appear together in the near future- or maybe they’re waiting for those wee tiny little rodent outfits we’re all writing you about!
stay happy-
congrats on being a publiushed pattern writer! Cheers!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments :) This was certainly fun!
Ryan and Kathy - I am a pedestrian person myself, so no worries there. And Ryan - I haven’t made Vogue Knitting yet :)
Kim - I had had that exact thought because I could only ever get a picture of two at a time. But I kind of like the idea of there being an imaginary one. So maybe there are four gerbils? Three substantial and one not so…
Abi, Coleen, Bliss and Nat - Yes, it’s kinda cool but the first thing I thought when I looked at the picture last night was “Gosh, my hands look old!
Bron - I remember that you were disappointed in the calendar but since sweaters seem to be your thing (with the occasional shawl now and then) and since the calendar suffers from a dearth of sweaters, I can certainly understand that. As expert a crocheter as you are and as beautiful work as you produce (in an incredibly brief period of time!), you’re not missing a thing :)
Barb - Model? LOL! My hands and feet didn’t seem to get...erm...fluffy when the rest of me did but model? A tent, maybe… And what do you think for the littles...red vests and caps?
Wow Congratulations, what an accomplishment! Personally, I love those one-a-day patterns, when I’m all out of ideas I just thumb through it and always find something interesting.
Marie - Thanks :) Actually I like these calendars for the same reason - they’re idea factories for me!
Congratulations to you
. That must have been very exciting. I have not seen the calendar yet. Love the picture of the babies.
Congratulations!
Maureen and Aarlene - Thanks a bunch. It is a lot of fun - except when my father asks “How much did you get paid?” Partly he’s just trying to get my goat - but part of him truly believes that what you don’t get paid for isn’t worth doing.
Oooh congrats! When does it come out? I think your hand looks great!
Laura - It should already be available in places like Borders and Barnes & Noble :)
I think my hand looks old - but I’m attached to it :)
