Oh man - we had such a good time at Chatters last night! New friends and old from as nearby as the next state to as far away as the other side of the globe and tomorrow morning. What a blast! Thanks everybody - next week I’ll bring the beer :)
Ahem…
I got the cable sock finished - and it fits beautifully :)
I also finished the seed stitch scarf…
Interestingly, the sideways scarf must have been the focus for some kind of universal, harmonious, knitting convergence. Take a look at this beautiful example, (scroll down a bit) created by Ryan over at Mossy Cottage. Not only that, but Colleen over at Musings of a Silver Rose has started a lengthwise scarf too. I promise we haven’t been consulting each other - apparently the universe just decided to hit all of us with the length-wise scarf stick :)
And, I believe I finally know what my next big project is going to be. Last night, Mary in PA reminded me of this:
We’re supposed to have a very cold, windy night tonight so I hope all your weekends are cozy and warm. Stay safe, stay happy everyone and I’ll see you on Monday!
No trackbacks yet.
You said, “fart!” Titter, titter, hee, hee!
Lovely seed-stitch scarf, Robbyn. And you made me realize there’s more than one way to solve the age-old question of “how do I photograph a scarf that is so dang long and skinny?” You don’t. You fold it up all creatively and photograph that arrangement instead. Thumbs up!
oh sigh, i am just positively determined to ‘join’ all you happy chatters eventually- it seems to me that every thursday night fate looks down at me, gives an evil snicker, and creates some form of household chaos that throws a roadblock in my path-
the attack of ‘seed stitchiness’ going around does make for pretty finished products, doesn’t it? i think it’s interesting to see how people working independently do on occasion align themselves on similar projects- i can remember my mom saying ‘… it’s in the air’ when coincidences occurred-
stay happy-
Ryan - I take no credit. It’s precisely because I couldn’t get a nice picture of the whole thing stretched out flat that it wound up in a jumbled pile in the first place :) And then it seemed to me that it looked kind of interesting that way :)
Barb - Funny about seed stitch, isn’t it? I’m going to cast on a swatch for the afghan this afternoon and that’s one of the things I want to try - a couple of rows of seed stitch here and there :)
sigh. Beautiful socks, bee--aaa-uuutiful scarf and I forgot last night was Thursday. Or rather, I was lying limply on the couch with my knitting sitting on my chest, recovering from a wild week at work. but I am really bummed that I missed Chatters.
Rob - Thank you kindly about the socks and scarf :) I hope you did manage to get some rest last night - sounds like you’ve had a rough week!
*sigh* Now you’ve outed me, Robbyn, I’m just going to HAVE to post again soon. I’ll have pics of my Dulaan stuff up next week, at least. (To whom will go *my* experiment with the sideways scarf.)
Colleen - Ahh -didn’t mean to make life difficult for you. It was just such a neat and intriguing coincidence that the three of us seem to have all decided, quite independently, to work on the same type of project :) I thought that was pretty cool!
*laugh* Oh, so do I…
I love knowing that you were knitting that sock during chatters last night! And I am just in heaven about that sideways scarf - what a beautiful colour combination you have pulled out there!
Nat - Gee, thanks :) I’m always working on something - last night it was the sock. ANd next week it will probably be the mate to the sock! Heheh…
Some of the scarf yarns were only a few yards long - it was interesting matching things up.
