I got the hat finished last night…
Another one down!
You know about the Knitting Pattern-a-Day calendar? It’s pretty neat - loose pages in a box/stand that gives a pattern for every day of the year, sometimes every two days if the pattern is long or complicated. Well, next year, Accord Publishing is going to do one for crochet as well. And these are going to be in it:
Mitts with river
Thanks to Barb-in-east-texas for directing me to the web page and suggesting I submit the mitt pattern, to Dawn for putting the idea in my head and to Bron for reminding me how much fun crochet could be!
Hungry Goldie
Happy Monday everyone!

A big Congrats for getting your mitts in the calander! They really are great and I know lots of people will enjoy making a pair of their very own. Thanks for the compliment on your blog, too. Very much appreciated. Love the blue hat and the tassel, by the way!
~DAWN
Dawn - Thanks! I sure hope people enjoy making them. It has been fun, I must admit :)
what a jaunty tassel! no matter how i try i can always make both tassels and pompoms look like long and lanky bits of leftovers-
the mitts are pretty and i am delighted you will receive recognition for your innovative ideas- hooray for robbyn!!
our fat cat is also the most shy about attacking the food dish- i attribute her massive girth to an ability to look most pitiful while the others are gobbling so we fall prey to her schemes and give her extra treats- just another example of how well pets train their people-
stay happy-
Way to go Robbyn...How exciting for you! I love the blue hat and the tassel is a nice touch too.
Barb - What is it with the big ones (cats, that is)? Wanna trade? Heheh…
Maureen - Thanks! And once I stopped thinking the tassel was goofy, I kinda liked it too :)
You’re famous! hee hee. I like the tassel, too.
Laura - Is that “famous” or “infamous”? I can never remember…
LOVE the depth in your yarn choice for the hat! LOVE the tassel! You have quite inspired me to make a few hats for next winter (its currently approaching mid summer here)
Cheers for the mo
Nat
Hi Nat :) It seems to be unanimous for the tassel - and to think I almost pulled the poor thing out by its little roots! Thanks :)
woohoo - congrats on the pattern! Now I’ll *have* to buy a copy of the calendar when it’s published. :)
The tassel is very, very cute - you did a great job on the hat. :)
Poor Goldie looks really sorry for himself. Wee MacFluff was always a bit of a martyr like that too - if Pushkin asserted herself, he would just give up and look miserable. We used to call him Saint Fluff when he did that lol.
Bron - heheh - I was wondering about your “Misty Morning Stole” - don’t you think that would look nice in the calendar? There’s still time :)
Pam - Yes! Exactly like that! We’ll have to start calling him St Goldie - LOL! It does seem to me that the females are much more assertive than the males
